We are inviting people with experience of accessing mental health, drug or alcohol services during pregnancy to share their experiences. Your feedback will help us understand the needs of mums-to-be and their families and how our services can better support them during this time.
Partners and support people are also welcome to share their feedback and suggestions with us.
What is a Perinatal Support Plan?
At Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) we want to make sure you and your baby have a safe start to life and feel supported in your journey to parenthood. During pregnancy your emotional wellbeing is just as important to us as your physical wellbeing.
Understanding this, we provide all pregnant woman that access our Community Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol team (CMHDA) the opportunity for Perinatal Support Planning.
This plan is designed to help you and your health workers understand what you may benefit from during the birth of your baby and when you leave the hospital. It is developed in consultation with yourself and all relevant services
Review complete
Thank you to those mothers who shared with us their experiences of having a Perinatal Support Plan as part of their maternity care. We appreciate your time and perspectives. The project team will be reviewing the responses, as well as feedback from health professionals, to consider how the Perinatal Support Plan processes could be improved.
