Seeking representatives for NSW Statewide Eating Disorders Steering Committee

9 July 2024

NSW Health is currently inviting Expressions of Interest from people with a personal experience of living with an eating disorder who are interested in joining the Statewide Steering Committee.

The Statewide Eating Disorders Steering Committee oversees the implementation of the NSW Service Plan for People with Eating Disorders 2021-2025 (Service Plan). The Steering Committee’s functions include:

  • monitoring statewide progress against measures of performance
  • addressing the needs of the target population across the spectrum of care
  • considering strategic issues and future service planning across NSW Health
  • recommending the establishment of sub-committees, working groups or networks to progress key issues of implementation, which will report to the Steering Committee.

The role of the representatives is to provide a consumer perspective on issues discussed and recommendations made by the committee. They will be treated as a peer and receive all communication as per staff committee members. Representatives will be remunerated for their time at a rate of $40 per hour.
